UMAP Student & Staff Mobility Programs

UMAP Alumni Forum

Objective:

This forum is designed to hold in association the students and staff who have had experience in UMAP mobility, by providing further opportunities to participate in other form of activities that add on the value to UMAP, i.e.,

  • UMAP Stars
  • UMAP Distinguished Follows

Activities proposed by Member Secretariats for these 2 alumni projects are entitled to receive support from UMAP budget.
Proposals will be considered in accordance with the following auidelines;

UMAP Stars:

Description
This project aims to prepare the young generation for the knowledge-based and globalize society in the 21st Century by inviting alumni students to take part in "UMAP Contest & Award for Leadership Recognition" for topics in subject fields ranging from humanities, social sciences, sciences  and technology. Categories of the contest will depend on the various subject fields, e.g., speech contest for languages studies, business plan contest, innovative projects developed by students in ICT, etc.

Eligilbility
To be eligilble, a proposal for UMAP Stars must  meet the following requirements:

  1. The project can be carried out by Member Secretariats or UMAP participating university.
  2. The project is planned to promote UMAP aims through alumni students' activities, which involves group work rather than individual unless it depends on nature of the subject
  3. The project must provide an opportunity for students to get together in an educational environment to further develop the protfolio for contest.
  4. The alumni students may work with current students or among alumni from defferent countries/territories, by themselves or under supervision of an advisor of the host.
  5. A panel of jurors must be formed by the host to evaluate the portfolio in contest.
  6. The project must be opened through the homepage of the Member Secretariats of the University displaying UMAP logo with the project, and be advertised at www.umap.org

UMAP Distinguished Fellos

Description
This project aims to provide international recognition for "UMAP Distinguished Fellows & Award for Leadership Recognition" for the achievement of university administrators on mobility and international ization of higher education. The awardee could be academic faculty or professional administrator in UMAP participating universities, who has contributed significantly towards UMAP aims.

UMAP Board will invite nominations from Member Secretariats every alternate year, and set up guidelines for searching of nominees.

Conferment of the Award should take place on the occasion of holding UMAP Biennial Conference.

The Award will be in the form of recognition with no priced award to be given to the awardee.
