Designed to create and facilitate for academic and research mobility, UMAP Academic and Research Mobility Forum provides platform for networking of interests for academic and research cooperation among UMAP participating universities, on:
- Joint Study Program
- Research-Net Program
The forum aims to foster the development of network by providing assistance to team of academics and researchers from UMAP member countries/territories by organizing seminar, workshop, or other forms of activities for joint study program development, and for research-net formation.
The academic discipline of joint study program, and the topic of research-net should be relevant to the broad concept of "Higher Education for Sustainable Development" and must be designed to meet policy relevancy on the UMAP agenda for regional and global concerns. These may include any subject field in the broad areas concerning; sustainability of economic development, language and cultural studies, etc.
Joint Study Program
About UMAP Joint Study Program: a joint study program can be a baccalaureate or post-baccalaureate course jointly formed and operated by a group of up to three universities, in which academic faculties responsible for the same coueses in their universities will form a network for joint study program development, and joint delivery of course evaluation.
UMAP Joint Study Program aims to prepare the young generation for the knowledge-based and globalize society in the 21st Century by developing some effective models for providing opportunties to students and faculties to gain international higher education experience through university cooperation in UMAP Joint Study Program .
Research-Net Program
About UMAP Research-Net Program: aresearch-net is a group of at least three researchers with at least one having completed graduate studies (Ph.D. or equivalent) and be a faculty or researcher, others may be post-graduate students or researchers in universities participating in the program.
A proposal for UMAP Research-Net Program must possess the following charateristics:
- A research team must comprise of 3 members from UMAP participating universities each from the three member countries/territories.
- Each team shall be actively engaged in a research related to the advancement of knowledge in the topic
- The proposal must show that the goal is to foster research network and mobility of researchers, and not to emphasize finance of the research
- It must include a strategy/critical path to pursue linkages after the initial activity
Purely scientific subjects such as physics, chemistry, medicine, engineering, etc. Which would not lead to a better knowledge and understanding of "Higher Education for Sustainable Development" issues per se are not eligible, nor are proposals which focus exclusively on technological or methodoligical issues.
