To meet with UMAP’s aim on enhancing socio-economic and cultural understanding among member countries/territories through the cooperation of universities on student and staff exchange.

The objectives of UMAP are set;

• To eliminate problems and difficulties regarding student exchange
• To facilitate the transformation from bilateral to multilateral cooperation among members in the form of consortia.
• To develop and maintain mutual recognition of academic credits among universities of member countries/territories

In order to achieve these objectives, UMAP operations so far have been based on general principle among member countries/territories concerning student exchange; that is, waiving of tuition fees, assistance on VISA for students, board & lodging, and transfer of credits between host and home universities.

UMAP operation in terms of supporting and facilitating the student exchange process among member countries has been developed in the form of web-based tool student exchange and for transferring credits earned from host to home universities.
